In educational advancement summits held in 2010 and 2011 in Illinois, over 300 nurse leaders attended to discuss the need to advance nursing education in Illinois and develop strategies to accomplish this. At the April 2011 summit, there was widespread support for moving forward with legislation and other initiatives for educational advancement for nurses in Illinois. It was also determined that in Illinois the capacity is available for RN to BSN programs to accommodate this increase. To access the files from the three summits click here
At the December 2011 summit, nursing leaders developed regions throughout the state to assist in moving the Nursing Vision 2020 forward. If you are interested in participating please contact a regional leader in your area. Details can be downloaded from the link below.
