Who We Are
INA is the nurses’ union, at the forefront, fighting for nurse’s rights to empower them to be the best advocates for their patients and their community.
Core Purpose
The mission of the INA is to work for the improvement of health standards and availability of health care services for all people in Illinois, foster high standards for nurses, stimulate and promote professional development of nurses, and advance their economic and general welfare.
Core Values
The Illinois Nurses Association will be recognized as the nursing union in the State of Illinois, providing professional representation, improving wages and terms and conditions of employment for nurses in bargaining units represented by the INA, creating an environment where all RN’s can participate and lead in protecting patient care by organizing unorganized RN’s that do not have the professional standards that INA represented members have gained.
Our Goals
The Illinois Nurses Association will:
Build a more powerful voice for nurses
Negotiate the best RN contracts
Educate nurses, the public, legislators, government officials, and communities about the role and purpose of the organization
Build nursing power through implementing and maintaining a democratic member run organization, in which all members participate and contribute
