Foundation Seeks Nursing Support

The Illinois Nurses Foundation (INF) kicked off an initiative to inspire Illinois nurses to support nursing’s future. Through this initiative, the INF hopes to create more opportunities for nurses in the state. Every nurse is responsible for the future of nursing in Illinois; through a simple donation we can all take part in this initiative.

INF is asking for a $10 donation from EVERY nurse in Illinois. This small donation can make an extraordinary impact. Your donation of $10 will help create educational opportunities for future and current nurses.

There is a nursing shortage; TOGETHER WE CAN HELP FIX IT.

“It is important that nurses work together to support our future. We can not continue to sit by and wait for someone else to create opportunities for us. The INF already supports nurses through scholarships, fellowships and education. We are calling on all Illinois nurses to donate to the Foundation so we can develop projects on our own without waiting for a legislative mandate,” said Maureen Shekleton, President of the INF.

INF currently provides the Sonne Scholarship, Anne Zimmerman Fellowship, Retired Nurses Project and community education. Recent exposure on Chicago area cable television (CANTV) brought the goals of the Foundation to the public. A call was placed to the nursing leadership in Illinois in early April for their financial support. The effect of the INF’s dedication reaches nurses in every capacity. We’re inviting every nurse, to reach out and show support of the profession they love so dearly.

For just $10, you could help finance nursing education for more than a hundred nurses.
